Paul Morabito

Paul is an accomplished corporate, commercial and property lawyer. He has over 17 years of experience in providing transactional property and commercial services ranging from sales and acquisitions, developing and finance, through to business and commercial agreements and related intellectual property issues.

His expertise is consolidated by his previous roles as a senior litigator and insolvency practitioner with the Australian Taxation Office and a corporate lawyer with a specialist corporate law firm.

Paul’s practice interests are focused on transactional real estate matters, leasing and property development.

Paul’s clients are from various sectors, including property and investment funds, Australian and international developers, investors, property funds managers and property trusts, strata schemes, startup companies, small and medium sized listed public companies, as well as venture capital firms.  Paul also provides “external general counsel” services to client companies that do not have their own in-house capabilities.

Paul is a trusted advisor to his clients.  His business acumen, grasp of the details and knowledge of corporate and commercial law enables him to provide practical advice and drive commercial value for his clients.

  • Acting in the sale of prominent development site exceeding $60 million to a large international developer.
  • Acting for various adjoining property owners in relation to the sale of respective lots in a large development site to a major developer.
  • Acting for various developers in off-the-plan sales of apartments.

Property Acquisitions: 

  • Acting for a major property investment client in connection with acquisition of large chicken broiler farm operation with water rights.
  • Acting for various clients in the acquisitions of development sites, including by way of call options.
  • Acting for a major developer in relation to $80 million construction funding facility.

Corporate

  • Acting for an established corporate client in relation to a merger and acquisition in the financial planning sector.
  • Acting for various clients in relation to capital raisings for start-ups and established corporate clients.
  • Acting for a property owner in connection with a property development agreement for the construction of a new mixed-use development.
  • Acting for an investment fund in relation to a complex loan and security agreement.
  • Acting for various clients in the sale of retail and professional service businesses.
